Description

PURIFIES, SOOTHES AND PROTECTS.

TULSI or TULASI, in Sanskrit, holy basil, whose scientific name is Ocimum sanctum, is an aromatic shrub of the basil family that grows in tropical parts of Asia. It is considered native to north-central India and is cultivated in many Indian households for temple offerings.

In Ayurvedic medicine, Tulsi is called the “Queen of Herbs”. Due to its medicinal and spiritual properties, this plant is revered as an elixir of life.

Tulasi mala is often used as a spiritual ornament. It is very active in purifying the body, mind and senses. It protects from negative energies, gives peace and reduces stress. Improves the ability to concentrate. Helps to relieve throat problems.

Mala strung on thread with wooden beads of Tulsi (Holy Basil). There are 108 seeds plus 1. 108 times the mantra is to be repeated. Why 108? One of the most interesting is that the Sanskrit alphabet contains 54 letters, and each letter is male and female, Shiva and Shakti, so 54 X 2 = 108. Another meaning is that 108 are the lines of energy that converge to form the heart chakra. And why plus one? At the end of the mala is a separate seed, called sumeru, bindu or guru. For this seed the mantra is not recited, but it is there as a tribute to the one who offered you the mala.

Cleaning: Soak in lukewarm water for 12 to 15 hours, then carefully clean the seeds with a stiff bristle brush. Dry in the sun. Once dry, apply a small amount of “Rice & Neem. Pure cleansing oil” on the seeds.

Avoid using detergents and boiling water.
